Victor Hovlan of Northern Ireland won seven titles in a year and seven months at the PGA Tour Balspar Championship, which ended on the 24th. Hovlan, who debuted on the PGA Tour in the 2019-20 season, is famous for using almost all of his putters as a single model throughout his career. It is Ping Golf's PLD DS72 Mallet putter. Until Ping released it under the model name DS72, it was called the "Hoby" prototype named after Hovlan.
The putter for hoblan is milled with carbon steel and is equipped with two white lines on the flange, which is the top and back part, for alignment.
With this putter, Hoblan has won six PGA Tour titles, including the 2020 Puerto Rico Open and Mayakova Golf Classic, the 2021 World Wide Technology Championship, the 2023 Memorial Tournament, the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship.
In February this year, he changed his putter for the first time. Having suffered slump after winning three games in 2023, Hoblan suffered severe slump in putts, as the number of gains from putts ranked 123rd ahead of the Genesis Invitational. As a result, he changed his equipment to Ping Golf's PLD Oslo Mallet putter. However, as if his performance was not good enough, he returned to the DS72 putter, and won the title that he had been waiting for at the Balspa Championship. All seven of his PGA wins were achieved through DS72 putters.
Hoblan finished second in the number of gains from putts in the competition. He gained a whopping 7.3 strokes.
Ping PLD putter means PUTTING LAB DESIGN. It is Ping's premium putter line that develops products with players. The DS72 used by Hovlan was developed by Hovlan himself.
The head can be chosen to suit the preference of golfers, from small blade mallet styles (including DS72), to larger and more traditional shapes. 먹튀검증
Among them, DS72 is designed for golfers who play straight strokes, but there is no problem even if they use it for golfers who play arch strokes. 303 stainless steel is milled with a CNC machine for more than four hours to provide the best putting, tolerance, accuracy and consistency.
Hoblan's iron play was also strong at the championship. He tied for seventh in the green accuracy rate (66.67 percent) among the players in the competition, and was sixth in the number of gains from iron shots (5.886). Hoblan uses only the 3-iron Titleist U505 and uses Ping Golf's i210 from the 4-iron to the pitching wedge. This is also an older product released in 2018.
It is a high-performance iron that has a reputation for its thrilling taste of hands and perfect control, and it floats the ball at a high height and sends it as long as you want and then stops the ball quickly. It creates a high elasticity with a low-centered structure that is 3% lower than the previous model and is designed to be deep, sending the ball as much as you want and stopping it quickly without rolling far when it falls on the green.
